Deep Cove is a sublocation of Gillfolk's Drop in the Uncharted Seas. It is home to the remaining Gillfolk after the Catastrophe.

Description[]

Deep Cove is set inside a large grotto with a few open holes to allow sunrays to illuminate the cave. It features many giant sea shells that serve as homes to the Gillfolk. It is connected to the open ocean as there are large pools inside the grotto. The entrance to the Royal Palace lies in the northern parts. A ladder in the center of the grotto leads back to the surface and towards the Cavern of Fire. The waters of Deep Cove are kept warm throughout the year by it.[1]

A guard is stationed by a locked gate to keep intruders from further entering the Gillfolk home.

Similarity to Gillfolk's Grotto[]

Gillfolk's Grotto is based on Deep Cove. Both feature the Gillfolk sea shell homes and the water pools. Both locations are connected to their palaces.

History[]

Due to the danger of the Living Fortresses roaming the Uncharted Seas, the Gillfolk have retreated as much as possible from the open ocean. They are staying in or in close proximity of Deep Cove to avoid running into one of the war machines.[2]

The Kid arrives on the island in hopes to find the Emblem of Ocean. He discovers Deep Cove but cannot enter until the Gillman guard allows passage. He demands honey from the Kid and once received, he hands over a key which opens the locked gate behind him.

Inside Deep Cove the Kid is able to talk to the Gillfolk living there and he learns the story of this race after the Catastrophe. He is first send into the Cavern of Fire above the Deep Cove, before he is able to move to the northern parts of the grotto to enter the Frozen Palace.

The Kid is able to collect a few more treasures after undoing the curse set upon the Emblem of Ocean and the Gillfolk.
